Electricity : – Electricity is the name of an unknown quantity due to which the property of attracting light substances produced in an object comes.

Electrophysics :- The branch of physics under which charges are studied is called electricity.

Electrostatics :- The branch of physics that deals with the study of interactions between stationary charges and stationary charges is called electrostatics.

Q2 – What field is produced around 2 stationary charges?
Ans. electric field

 

Frictional electrophysics :- The branch of physics under which heat is generated due to friction when two different objects rub against each other. An object is said to have an excess of electrons, while another object lacks electrons.

=> The phenomenon of generation of charge due to friction when two objects are rubbed together is called frictional electrophysics.

=> The charge in an object always arises due to electrons not due to protons i.e. if there is a positive charge on an object then there is a decrease of electrons on that object and the increase of electrons on that object on which there is an increase of negative charge it occurs

Frictional electrophoresis example

(1) When a glass rod is rubbed with a silk cloth, some electrons from the glass rod are transferred to the silk cloth, as a result of which there is a lack of electrons on the glass rod and an excess of electrons on the silk cloth Therefore, the glass rod becomes positively charged and the silk cloth rod becomes negatively charged.

 

(2) When a cat’s skin or woolen cloth is rubbed with an ebonite rod, some electrons from the cat’s skin are transferred to the ebonite rod, as a result, the ebonite rod becomes negatively charged, the cat’s skin becomes positively charged.

 

Q- 3 If a comb is passed through dry hair, it attracts microscopic pieces of paper, why and what will be the effect if the hair is wet or it is raining?
Ans. When the kanga is passed through dry hair, it gets attracted

Charge :- The branch of physics under which charge is created on an object or body is called charge.

There are two types of passion

(1) positive charge (2) negative charge

(1) Positive charge – The type of charge under which electrons are produced by the process of giving up is called positive charge.

(2) Negative charge – The type of charge under which the body becomes negatively charged by the process of receiving electrons is called negative charge.

Methods of charging objects

(1) Charge by contact method :- When an uncharged object is brought in contact with a charged object (conductor), the charge of equal nature spreads on both the conductors, it is called application by contact method.

(2) Charging by induction method : – The process under which a charge of opposite nature is produced by a charged object without touching an uncharged object, then it is called charge by induction.

=> The driver ball is placed on a non-conducting stand

=> A positively charged rod is taken near the conductor, then negative charge on p part of conductor and positive charge on Q part gets induced

=> When the conducting sphere is grounded, that is, the earth is contacted with the earth by a conducting wire, then electrons flow from the earth to the conductor due to which the Q part of the conductor becomes neutral

=> Even when the contact of the conducting sphere with the earth is removed, the negative charge on the part p remains distributed.

=> Now the charged rod is also removed, then the negative charge of the part p is immediately distributed on the contact surface of the conducting sphere.

 

Q-4 How can you make a metal sphere positively charged without contacting it?
Ans. The process of application by the above induction method is the complete answer to this question

(3) Charge by frictional method :-
The process of charge under which charge is produced when the surfaces of two or more bodies rub against each other is called charge by frictional method.
